Day 1: Arrival Ha Noi (D)
Our driver will meet you at the Noi Bai Airport, and transfer you to your hotel in the famous old quarter area of Hanoi.
After checking in you can start to explore the area around the hotel or take a leisurely walk around Hoan Kiem Lake.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Ha Noi City Tour- (B, L, D)
0800h: Guide will meet you at your hotel & you will depart to visit:
Ho Chi Minh Complex: Completed in 1975 the complex contains Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, his former stilt house residence, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh museum.
Next stop is a visit to the Temple of Literature: Originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam’s first university dating back to 1070. Inside are the stone steles used for ceremonies and mounted on the backs of turtles and inscribed with the names of the university’s graduates. The complex is divided into five courtyards which originally would have been reserved for the Emperor and his mandarins. One of the courtyards contains the statue of Confucius guarded by two beautiful bronze storks standing on turtles. The temple highlights the importance Vietnamese society has placed on education.
1200h: A delicious set menu lunch will be provided for you in a local restaurant.
1300h: Your tour recommences with a visit to the Museum of Ethnology which is widely acknowledged as the best in Vietnam and has an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 Ethnic minority peoples.
Then it is on to the Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake: The Ngoc Son temple is set on a tiny island on the Hoan Kiem Lake and was erected in 18th century. The temple is reached by crossing the Huc Bridge which literally means “Place Touched by Morning Sunbeams”. Hoan Kiem Lake is a focal point of the city and the source of many legends including the legend of the returned sword which dates back to the 15th century and refers to a magical sword used to free Vietnam from Chinese rule.
The Old Quarter, also known as the 36 streets, is a bustling area of narrow streets home to literally thousands of small businesses and street vendors, selling a wide variety of goods. Originally each of the 36 streets names’ were related to the products being sold there. Hence you can walk from Fish Street to Tin Street to Bamboo Street and you will enjoy exploring the area while riding in a traditional cyclo.
1600h: Arrive to your hotel.
Day 3: Ha Noi - Cuc Phuong National Park (B, L, D)
0830h: Your guide will meet you at your hotel and together you will start your scenic drive to Cuc Phuong National Park in an air conditioned comfortable vehicle.
1115h: Arrive to the National Park and after a short break, start an interesting 4Km trek through the natural surrounds and visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre. At the centre you will learn more about the biodiversity of Flora and Fauna and endangered species found in the park.
After your visit a picnic lunch will be provided.
In the afternoon you will be able to relax or enjoy the surroundings by yourself.
Overnight and enjoy dinner in the Hotel.
Day 4: Cuc Phuong National Park - Van Long - Hoa Lu - Tam Coc (B,L, D)
0730h: Enjoy your breakfast before starting off on a 2 hour trip in boat to enjoy wonderful landscapes, grottos and fascinating natural caves of the Van Long Nature Reserve.
After your visit to Van Long it will be time to transfer to Hoa Lu & Tam Coc which due to its’ many interesting Limestone Karsts towers is becoming known as “The Ha Long Bay on land”.
Check into your hotel and relax before dinner.
Overnight in Tam Coc.
Day 5: Ninh Binh - Hai Phong (B, L, D)
Once you have enjoyed your breakfast it will be time to cycle to the Bich Dong Pagoda which was constructed in 1428 and consists of three Palaces built on 3 different levels. After seeing the spectacular views from Bich Dong, you will return to Tam Coc and take a boat ride along the river past rice fields and in the shadow of towering limestone formations
Depart Tam Coc and start your journey by road towards Hai Phong stopping to visit Tran Temple and Pho Minh Tower along the way.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant before continuing on to Hai Phong.
Arrive to Hai Phong and visit the City Opera House, Le Chan Statue and Du Hang Pagoda before checking into your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Le Chan was a female general who in 40 – 42 AD battled with her army of women against the Chinese. Even though the Chinese ultimately won the battle, Le Chan became a heroine of the people and the Ngha Temple was built to honor her memory.
Overnight in Hai Phong.
Day 6: Cat Ba (B, L, D)
After breakfast. Transfer to Binh ferry and Hydro foil station to catch Express Hydrofoil to Cat Ba island.
Arrive to Cat Ba Island and checking into your hotel before taking another boat trip to visit Lan Ha Bay. Enjoy some spare time to go swimming Cat Ba beach and relax on the beach.
In the afternoon return to your hotel for dinner and overnight on Cat Ba Island. .
Day 7: Cat Ba - Halong (B, L, D)
After enjoying breakfast and checking out of the hotel you transfer to a wooden traditional Junk for a slow cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Lan Ha Bay and Ha Long Bay. You will be fascinated by the stunning scenery of the beautiful World Heritage listed Site.
You will visit amazing landscapes, floating fishing village and natural limestone caves such as the Sung Sot cave and Me Cung cave.
12.30: Local fresh seafood hot pot lunch on board.
13.30: Continue to cruise slowly through magnificent formations of Ha Long Bay stopping to go Kayaking through rocky arch ways and tunnels to explore hidden lagoons.
14.30: Cruise to the deserted three peaches beach where you can swim and enjoy snorkeling or simply relax on the beach.
18.00: Have a beautifully prepared fresh seafood dinner on board.
21.00: For those looking for a bit of fun, jopin the crew at the back of the boat and try your hand at fishing for squid before retiring to your cabin for the night
22.30: Overnight on board.
Day 8: Ha Long Bay - Ha Noi (B, L)
0730h: For the early risers you can sit and watch the sunrise and be amazed by the early morning peace and beauty of the bay while breakfast is made ready.
Enjoy your breakfast as the boat begins cruising once more through the calm waters of Ha Long Bay toward the wharf where unfortunately it will be time to start your road trip back to Hanoi.
1600h: Arrive back to Hanoi where you tour with us will come to an end.
